Overview

KASA High School is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to develop academically, socially, and personally. The school’s policies and regulations define the expectations, rights, and responsibilities of all members of the school community.

These policies aim to promote respect, integrity, responsibility, and active participation in school life. Students are expected to familiarise themselves with these regulations and contribute positively to maintaining a supportive and productive learning environment.

Student Rights

Students at KASA High School are entitled to a number of fundamental rights that support their academic and personal development.

Right to Education: Every student has the right to receive high-quality education in a safe and supportive environment. The school promotes intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.

Freedom of Expression: Students are encouraged to express their opinions respectfully and responsibly. Freedom of expression must not infringe upon the dignity, rights, or beliefs of others and must not promote discrimination, hatred, or intolerance.

Freedom of Thought, Conscience & Religion: The school respects students’ freedom of thought, conscience, and religion. Students may express their beliefs in accordance with the law and with respect for the rights and freedoms of others.

Right to Privacy: Students have the right to personal privacy and protection of their personal information in accordance with data protection regulations.

Participation in School Life: Students are encouraged to participate actively in school life through student councils, clubs, academic competitions, cultural events, and community activities.

Safety & Protection: The school is committed to protecting students from all forms of violence, abuse, bullying, exploitation, or discrimination.

Student Responsibilities

As members of the school community, students are expected to:

• Attend classes regularly and punctually
• Demonstrate respect toward teachers, staff, and fellow students
• Follow school rules and policies
• Complete academic work honestly and responsibly
• Respect school property and facilities
• Contribute positively to the school community

Students represent the school both inside and outside the school environment and are expected to maintain appropriate behaviour at all times.

Admission Criteria

KASA High School follows a non-discrimination admissions policy and actively promotes diversity and multiculturalism. The College welcomes students from different backgrounds, cultures, and educational systems to create a truly global learning environment.

Admission decisions are based primarily on:

• Academic records
• English Language Proficiency
• Academic qualifications
• Educational goals of the applicant

Attendance

Regular attendance is essential for academic success and effective learning.

Students must attend all scheduled classes and school activities.

If a student is absent, the absence must be explained within five (5) days after returning to school.

Acceptable explanations include:

• A medical certificate from a physician
• A written declaration from a parent or guardian (for underage students)
• Official documentation for participation in recognised academic, sporting, or cultural events

Unexplained absences or repeated lateness may result in disciplinary action.

Behaviour & Conduct

Students are expected to demonstrate respectful behaviour at all times and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Students should:

• Show respect to teachers, staff, and fellow students
• Follow classroom rules and instructions
• Behave responsibly during school activities and events
• Maintain respect for school facilities and equipment
• Not bring ,cigarettes, alcohol and drugs on to the school premises
• Not Display banners, posters or advertising on school premises
• Not provide false information or misrepresentation

The following behaviours are strictly prohibited:

• Bullying, harassment, or intimidation
• Discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or personal beliefs
• Physical violence or threatening behaviour
• Vandalism or damage to school property
• Disruptive behaviour that interferes with learning

Anti-Bullying Policy

KASA High School maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward bullying.

Bullying may include:

• Verbal abuse or insults
• Physical aggression
• Social exclusion
• Cyberbullying
• Intimidation or harassment

All reports of bullying are taken seriously and investigated promptly. The school works with students to resolve incidents and ensure a safe environment for all students.

Digital Devices & Technology

Technology is an important part of modern education and should be used responsibly.

Students are expected to:

• Use digital devices for educational purposes during school hours
• Follow school guidelines regarding mobile phone use in class
• Respect the privacy of others when using technology
• Avoid recording, photographing, or sharing images of others without permission

Misuse of technology may result in disciplinary action.

Academic Assessment

Student assessment at KASA High School is continuous and designed to support learning and academic improvement. Evaluation may include:

• Class participation
• Assignments and coursework
• Written tests and examinations
• Oral assessments

Tests may take the form of:

• Short quizzes based on the daily lesson
• Scheduled tests announced in advance
• Unit assessments covering larger sections of the curriculum

Academic Honesty

Academic integrity is fundamental to the learning process.

Students must complete their work honestly and independently unless collaboration is authorised by the teacher.

Academic misconduct includes:

• Cheating during tests or examinations
• Plagiarism or copying work from others
• Using unauthorized materials during assessments

If a student is found cheating during an examination:

• The assessment will be terminated
• The student will receive a failing grade for the test

Repeated violations may lead to further disciplinary measures.

Dress Code

Students are expected to maintain a neat and appropriate appearance while attending school.

Students should:

• Wear clean and appropriate clothing suitable for a school environment
• Maintain good personal hygiene
• Avoid clothing that is offensive, provocative, or disruptive to the learning environment

The school reserves the right to request changes in appearance if it does not meet school standards.

Safeguarding & Student Protection

KASA High School places the safety and welfare of students as a top priority.

The school implements safeguarding procedures designed to:

• Ensure a safe learning environment
• Provide support for students who may be experiencing difficulties

Staff members are trained to respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and to ensure that students receive the support they need.

Health & Safety

The school maintains policies to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

Students are expected to:

• Follow all health and safety instructions

• Behave responsibly in laboratories, classrooms, and other school facilities
• Familiarise with evacuation routes and designated safe areas during times of emergencies.

School Trips & Activities

Educational visits and extracurricular activities are important parts of the learning experience.

Students participating in school trips must:

• Follow the instructions of the supervising staff
• Respect safety rules and behavioural expectations
• Represent the school responsibly during off-campus activities

Complaints & Feedback

Students have the right to express concerns or provide feedback regarding school matters.

Complaints should be submitted to the school administration and will be reviewed fairly and confidentially.

The school values student feedback and encourages constructive communication.

Disciplinary Procedures

When school regulations are violated, disciplinary measures may be applied to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.

Possible disciplinary actions include:

• Verbal warning
• Written warning
• Parent notification
• Behavioural review
• Temporary suspension
• Additional measures determined by the Teachers’ Board
• Expulsion

Disciplinary actions are applied fairly and proportionately, with the aim of encouraging responsible behaviour and personal development.

Financial Responsibilities

• Tuition fees must be paid before classes begin
• Non-EU students must pay full first-year tuition before arriving in Cyprus
• The College reserves the right to suspend, terminate, or refuse entry into examinations if a student has outstanding balances

Refund Policy

Refund of Tuition Fees, for students who decide to withdraw or suspend their application and/or studies, is processed according to the following criteria:

• If the students’ documents have not been submitted to the Ministry of Education and the Migration Department in Cyprus for approval, then the Educational Organisation shall return 90% of the tuition fees that have already been paid.
• If the students’ documents have been submitted to the Ministry of Education and the Migration Department in Cyprus for approval, then the Educational Organisation shall return 50% of the tuition fees that have already been paid.
• If a student has been granted a visa, but decides to withdraw for any reason, there will be no refund of tuition fees.
• If a student has received his/her visa and has already travelled to Cyprus then the Educational Organisation shall not return any tuition fee amount.
• If the Migration department declines to issue a visa for a student on the grounds that his/her documents are not authentic (fake) then the Educational Organisation shall not return any tuition fee amount.
• If a student gets expelled, suspended or withdraws from his/her studies, there will be no refund of tuition fees.
• If a student requests to transfer to another institution, regardless of the time at which the request is submitted there will be no refund of tuition fees.
• If a student is granted a visa, travels to Cyprus, and, following the mandatory repeat medical examinations conducted in Cyprus, is diagnosed with a medical condition, then chooses not to undergo the required treatment in Cyprus and instead returns to their home country, no tuition fees paid to the College shall be refunded.
• In the event of Force Majeure after the students’ documents have been submitted to the Ministry of Education and the Migration Department in Cyprus or after a visa has been issued, the Educational Organisation shall not refund any tuition fees. Instead, the student will be expected to resume the application procedure or arrive/begin his/her studies as soon as the circumstances allow.
• Refunds are made only to the account from which the initial payment was made.

Application, registration fees and other bank charges are non-refundable. The date on which the student submits his/her written application to the College is considered the day of the student’s decision not to accept the position offered to him/her or to end his/her studies and request a refund of the tuition fees.

Visa Guarantee Refund Policy

In order to claim the Visa Guarantee a student must request it no later than 30 days after the expiration on his/her registration letter. If a student decides to withdraw or terminate his/her studies before the expiration of his/her registration, then (s)he must request the refund of the Visa Guarantee within 30 days. The Visa Guarantee shall NOT be refunded if:

• The student does not request it within 30 days from withdrawing/terminating their studies
• The student does not request it within 30 days of expiration of their registration
• The student loses his/her student status for any reason
• The student is suspended by the College and/or the Migration Department
• The student remains in Cyprus illegally after graduation without obtaining any other form of visa
• The student leaves Cyprus without informing the College of his/her intent to withdraw/terminate from his/her studies
• The student applies for political asylum
• The student marries a European Union national
• The student does not provide evidence that (s)he has left Cyprus legally and completed all College procedures
• The student does not graduate within the n+2 years set by the Ministry of Education of Cyprus (where n equals the duration of the programme in years)
